The page http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/MCE_Remote_FAQ apparently used to exist according to http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... 5725#p5725 and http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... 7546#p7546 etc.
But now it has dissappeared. Why? Has it been moved?
The WayBack engine has records of it as late as April 30 2008 http://web.archive.org/web/200804300956 ... Remote_FAQ.
Interestingly, a very similar page is at http://www.byremote.com.au/Hip/mce_remote_faq.htm - which is for HIP - a competing(?) commercial product (free for personal use).
All a bit strange really.

The article was only present in the old wiki, we have a new one since last march. In fact you can still find it in the old wiki.
I copied the article from the old wiki to the new one. Feel free to improve on the article if you can make it look prettier, or if theres errors in the content.

I'd like to say I've loved using EventGhost - very easy to use, and a great user interface.
I've tried quite a lot of knowledge I've learnt over the last few days to the wiki, but I've run into some road blocks. The 10 minute timeout thing is a hassle, and I don't think it is necessary on a low volume wiki. I ran into a bug whereby adding another line of text wass greater than some invisible limit it had set, and it just discarded all of my changes for that session with no explanation - ouch! And of course, it took me about 30mins of frustration to figure out it was page length that was the issue (not formatting). I'd also like to create another page or two, but I don't seem to be to.
I hope you can help with this.

You can create a new page in the wiki by going to the page URL that you would like to create (for example http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/Some%20new%20page). If there is nothing on that particular page yet there will be a link "Create new empty page" there you can use to start adding content.
I agree the 10min timeout and too small maximum articles size in the wiki sound like they should be changed. Also I found the restructuredtext format to be quite limiting in html formatting. It would help a lot if it was possible to insert html into the wiki pages, or preferrably have the reST parser enhanced in some way to be able to format the pages better.
For example positioning pictures side-by-side (float: left css property for example) was impossible so I had to put the images inside a table. And now that they are inside a table I can not use a named reference, I must use a substitution in reST. Now that it's a substitution and not a reference I can not use the :align: center option to center the image inside the table cell...
Even a simple thing like this became a nightmare to accomplish.
As far as the wiki features go, we need to ask Bitmonster to make the changes.
Btw. I posted a thread some time ago about the things that I think would be useful in the wiki, if you happen to have time and interest to write any of them it would be very helpful.
