new MceIr.dll for MCE remote on Vista with default driver

Any news? In the trunk we have a new eg.IrDecoder, that works nicely with RC6-MCE codes and should be superior to the decoder included in the DLL for all other codes.

It's not possible to work with the new MCE-Remote-Plugin as a restricted Windows-User.

It would be no problem to work as Win-Admin without password-assignment, but my Admin has got a password and EG starts with Win-Autostart. You see I always have to type in my password for EG-working.
It's not very comfortable for htpc-usage.

For Win Vista, is there any solution known?

Problem:
- I power-on my HTPC and Win always login to "RestrictedUser" automatically
- EG will be started by Win-Autostart
- With "RestrictedUser" EG shows the message below/with "Administrator" EG works normally
- Therefore I wanted to execute EG in "RestrictedUser" as "Administrator" - RightClick EG-icon -> settings -> compatibility -> "execute program as admin"...but this will not work.
- You see it's not possible to get the MCE-Plugin working with a restricted user

Try 0.3.6.1479. It will only try to open the registry with write access, if it really needs to. So once the settings have been applied (as administrator) it should work as restricted user.

I got the same problem with 0.3.6.1487 or 0.3.7.r851.
Is it possible to fix this?

I got the same problem with 0.3.6.1487 or 0.3.7.r851.

Same issue here under 0.3.7.r851. If I run as Admin, it works fine. If I run as a standard user, it doesn't pick up any events from the remote. Just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong, because I'd rather run as a limited user, just so I don't get the annoying UAC prompt when it launches on boot.

You can just add a scheduled task (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Scheduled Tasks) to launch EventGhost after login, with elevated user rights. You won't get the UAC prompt and the MCE remote will work just fine. That's how I do it anyway.

Same question here... I'd like to use the blaster to switch my Z-5500 between optical / direct depending on whether I'm watching movies / gaming.

Thanks ErlendsDB, that works great! I can even use it to blast IR from EventGhost, using the COM support from python. You don't even need to have remote keymap running when you use it that way.
I now have it set up so that my Z-5500 switches to Direct mode for games, and optical for movies. It even switches off when I suspend my computer

Am just wondering if the problem that I posted here: http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... f=2&t=1588 is a result of the lack of blaster functionality in the MCE module and if so if there is anyway round it untill blaster functionality is implemented ( Could I use an old module that required the modified driver perhaps?)

May I know what version of LM Remote Keymap are you using? I can't get it to work with EventGhost.

If the LM Remote KeyMap Blaster service is running, I cannot get EventGhost to log my remote event. EventGhost will log remote even if the service is stop.

I am using LM Remote Keymap version 6.2

I'm running version 5.3. I don't have the installer anymore unfortunately so I can't share it.

Make sure that in "Setup Remote" you disable 'exclusive use of MCE remote' and 'disable native mappings'.

Here's a sample python script I'm using to blast IR:

The "Z-5500" is the device I configured in LM Remote KeyMap. "Optical" is the name of the recorded IR code.

Thanks. I managed to get a copy of LM RKM version 5.1 and tried with EG version 0.3.7r1194 and 0.3.7r990. No luck.

I need to disable LM RKM service before EG can see the event. This does not help as doing so will also disable the blaster function. LM RKM application was not running. I had already de-select "Exclusive use of MCR remote" and "Disable native mapping."

I am using XP with SP3, and the default XP driver with registry hack...

Looks like EG does not like me..... sign

Whatever version of LM Remote KeyMap you'll try: this will not work. EventGhost must want to open the MCE IR device directly for getting the MCE remote input, but LM Remote KeyMap must do the same thing for handling the MCE IR Blaster (and there is no other way to do it).

You will make EventGhost works with LM Remote KeyMap if you don't use a MCE Remote plugin in EG that wants to open the MCE IR device.

Yep, seems to work fine under Vista 64bit.

I've included the DLL in 0.3.6.1483.

It seems to me that source code of MceIr.dll is not updated yet on SVN. Could you check that ?
