Hello, sory for my English, I speak Spanish.
I have a problem with a remote control. I have installed Mediaportal and eventghost, have all the necessary plugins installed, but it does not manage to work well. If I open Mediaportal and eventghost minimized, it does not work, eventghost does not ssend the pulsations to Mediaportal. On the other hand if I open Mediaportal and then open eventghost in a window superposed to Mediaportal, then the control works perfectly. Only orders the pulsations Mediaportal if the window of eventghost activates this one.
Someone can solve it like?

Re: Problem with Mediaportal
what kind of remote are you using?
are you seeing events generated in the eventGhost log when you press buttons on the remote?
do you have the "message plugin" installed and activated in mediaPortal?

Re: Problem with Mediaportal
OK. That's what I thought. Read the instructions!
http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/Short%20Manual
You have to apply events to the macros. You have all the MediaPortal Macros there but nothing to trigger them.
1 Press a key on your remote.
2 It will appear as an event (with lightning bolt) in the eventGhost Log
3 Drag the event to the correct macro.
I think the reason it was working when you opened mediaportal first is that the remote was controlling mediaPortal directly, but when you opened eventghost first, eventghost was stealing the events from the remote so mediaPortal wasn't getting anything.

Re: Problem with Mediaportal
I must apologize for 2 things. First, I thought I was subscribed to this thread, but I was not, and I never got a notification that you replied. Otherwise I would have gotten back to you sooner.
2nd, when I looked at your xml file I saw a lot of macros without events in them, but I didn't go far enough down the list to see that you did put events on some of the macros. So sorry, for my previous post!
I understand that when mediaportal has the focus, the remote actions are not getting though.
Try this,
- clear the log in eventghost.
- bring mediaPortal to the front (focused) and press a bunch of keys on the remote.
- go back to eventghost and see if the remote keypresses are showing up in the log.
(maybe copy and past the log into your next post)
this way we can find out if we need to fix the connection from the remote to eventghost, or the connection from eventghost to mediaPortal.
