I'm running EventGhost 0.3.7.r1194, 11.2 MB, Aug 22 2009 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit to control XBMC.

It says RC6 on the back and came with it's own USB receiver - it's all MS hardware.
Up until now I was using EventGhost on XP & win 7 RC1 with no issues. What is happening now is that whenever I press a button on my MCE remote, two events are generated: one when the button is pressed, and another when it is released.
I have tried two setups:
1. Usual setup: install Eventghost, delete CodeSetNum0-3 from HKLM\...57da, run EventGhost with admin. priveleges, using included 'MS MCE remote' plugin. Worked fine, except every button on the remote generates two events in EventGhost's log, and (unsurprisingly) in XBMC.

I tried installing the new service referenced therein (installed successfully, shows as running in list of services), run EventGhost (still with admin. priveleges) using new 'MS MCE remote - Vista/Win7' plugin. No change in behaviour - works fine, but every button on the remote generates two events in EventGhost's log, and (unsurprisingly) in XBMC.
I do not have any Autorepeat Macro's enabled.
In case it's relevant, when EventGhost is not running and I press buttons on the MCE remote, nothing happens - i.e. I cannot control the system/windows mixer volume, the 'green' button does not launch MS Media Center, I cannot enter numbers into notepad with the remote, etc. I don't view this as a problem, I think this lack of action is to be expected but I thought I'd mention it nonetheless.
One event is generated when the button is pressed, the second is generated when it's released.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! If not for the double events being generated, everything would be perfectly fine.

I believe the problem is solved.
I uninstalled EventGhost completely, the MCE remote went back to controlling the MS Media Center included in Windows 7, and the system volume etc.
Reinstalled EventGhost, running it with admin. priveleges, use it to launch and control XBMC. (I need to run XBMC in portable mode which also requires admin. priveleges. Apparently since EG is running with admin. priveleges it passes these on to XBMC - one less thing for me to mess with.)
Stuck with EG's included 'Microsoft MCE Remote' plugin. I went into the properties for this plugin and increased 'Button release timeout (seconds)' to 0.20 from 0.15. (The 'Disable HID service for this remote' option is enabled.) The EventGhost log only shows one event now per button press of the remote and therefore I no longer have unwanted double events in XBMC.
