Is it possible via Bluetooth to get an event when I receive an incoming call on my iPhone?
As I control everything with my iPhone I can't mute the audio or pause the playback until after I pick up. So it would be great to dim the volume on my receiver or pause media playback on incoming call.
Any solution on this one?

Re: Catch incoming call on iPhone
The only person I know so far (on this forum) that has been into "Bluetooth'ing" is doghouse
http://doghouselabs.blogspot.com/
http://www.doghouselabs.com/software/index.cgi?cat=xpl
He has developed the xPL plugin and he also kindly provides a free bluetooth tracking software. With those two together, I was able to track presence of mine, my kids and my wifes phone when they came close enough (within 10 meters or so) to the computer
The first thing to find out is of course how the iPhone sends message out on the Bluetooth for incoming calls. I believe there must be some kind of standards on this, otherwise the use of BT earpieces wouldn't work, right?
Just speculating, maybe a software needs to emulate such an earpiece BT device to receive the incoming call signal from the phone
Maybe doghouse takes on this thread and provides you with a reply or further comments
Best regards, Walter

Yes, I think there is a standard. And I know there is/was a plugin for MediaPortal that had this kind of feature.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
Re: Catch incoming call on iPhone
my experience w/ BT goes no further than presence detection so i don't much to offer here...
