JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
You meant changing to True, correct?
If that didn't work, can you see if you can find the right parameters using the Window->FindWindow action? That will pull up a gui that lists all of the windows (the one that let's you drag an icon to a window/subwindow). It includes a checkbox for "include invisible" or something like that.
If you find the right window in that UI, the parameters listed below are the parameters needed in the WindowMatcher function.

Did as requested. See screenshot for what was found...
setup... XBMC, W7MC for DVR & Live OTA TV, JRMC for multi-zone audio, EG, MiCasaVerde Vera3, USB-UIRT IR receiver, Harmony remote, 5.2 home theater system
Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
Nice, but I need to see what the parameters listed at the bottom of the screen are. I think you are fine just using the top level exe, as you have selected in the screenshot.

That's unfortunate.
Let me think about that one.

Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
I'm one step closer, the below line enables your plugin to see JRMC in hidden...
FindJRMC = eg.WindowMatcher(u'MEDIAC~1.EXE',u'Media Center{*}',u'MJFrame',None, None, 1, True, 0.0, 0)
... I have verified the plugin properly sends commands to JRMC & JRMC acts on them properly.
BUT, I'm getting only partial status/state changes from JRMC (what I need to trigger EG events). The plugin detects track changes, but nothing else. I'd like it to detect all changes... pauses, volume, stop, etc.
Have you tried xpTunes - it is really nice. I use it on my PC & iPod Touch and want to have EG triggers based on what EG detects JRMC doing. I'm planning to build a web page to front-end xpTunes for 'Activities' like "Listen to Music - Whole House", "Listen to Music - Patio", etc. So when EG detects specific zones being enabled it can trigger things like amps to turn on, or other conflicting devices or software to turn off.

Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
Hi Brett,
I'm finally getting around to trying to fully use this plugin to automate zone turn-on, zone switching, etc... since JRMC 15 finally has a decent Web UI.
Can you share how are you handing JRMC automation in EG, maybe you are doing it in a better way then I am?
I have a few simple goals for XBMC & JRMC usage/interactions...
1) JRMC will only be used for Zone2 play
2) When JRMC or XBMC shuts down - EG must check to see if the other is still running. If one of them is running, EG does not to turn off the entire system, only the associated equipment (e.g. JRMC shutdown = Receiver Zone2 Off)
I have attached a screenshot.
I general, using EG as it is today, doing anything with apps - other than a simple app switch, is tedious as far as I can tell... and I only really have 2 apps I use. I cannot imagine trying to manage 3, or 4, or more

Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
That looks like the EG way to do it. And that's why I'm using my forked version instead now.
You have two problems to deal with. One, there's the conditional logic during on/off. Two, you have to make sure the correct macros are enabled for control. It might be easier for the first problem to use a python script to check the conditions and put everything in the correct state. If you include the exclusion macros in the logic, that should cover the 2nd problem as well. I'd probably use an extra button to toggle the exclusion macro between the two programs.

Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
Anybody running this plugin with JRMC 17? I get errors when trying 'Set Zone', 'Set Playlist", and 'Sync Zones'. I am wondering if this is caused by the newer release.
Here are the the error messages tbat I get in the log.
Error in Action: "J River Media Center: Set Zone"
File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\eg\Classes\ActionBase.py", line 170, in CallWrapper
return self(*args)
TypeError: __call__() takes exactly 2 arguments (1 given)

Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
I would like to use this older plug-in, but am getting a "J River Media Center is not running" message with any command. Looking at the *.py file, I think the problem might lie here:
I suspect the problem is related to me being on version 18 of JRMC or using Windows 8. I'm not a C or Python programmer, so does anyone know how I can obtain the correct/current console window handle? Thanks.
Code: Select all
FindJRMC = eg.WindowMatcher(None,u'Media Center{*}',u'MJFrame',None, None, 1, False, 0.0, 0)
#jrmc=EnsureModule('{03457D73-676C-4BB0-A275-D12D30ADB89A}', lcid=0, major=1, minor=0)Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
Looks like the Window:Find a Window action returns the details.
Program: Media Center 18.exe
Window Name: JRiver Media Center 18 (Theater)
Window Class: MJFrame
I'll try experimenting.

Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
Got it working. For anyone else interested, change the line in the *.py file to:
Code: Select all
FindJRMC = eg.WindowMatcher(None,'JRiver Media Center{*}',u'MJFrame',None, None, 1, False, 0.0, None)Re: JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
Can't get this to work, despite kkl's efforts..
Any chance for an update..?

It doesn't look like the author has posted in over a year, so I think we're on our own.

As a long time JRMC user I would love to see this maintained.
and would be happy to $upport that effort - if you know what i mean!
