Eventphone won't work over Edge (not port forwarding)

Hi all I am new to Eventghost.

I am using version 0.37.r1387. I am running Windows XP SP3. I have an Iphone 3GS.

I have setup Eventghost with a USB-UIRT to control my Directv HDDVR. I am using it in conjunction with Orb so that I have full access to my DVR and can even watch my recorded shows. Here is my problem;

I can connect to Eventghost from my Iphone via wifi using both my LAN address and WAN address. As soon as I turn off wifi and switch to Edge I cannot connect. Now before I get accused of not setting up port forwarding on my router let me explain. I am using several other apps (orb, JaaduRDP, IWOL) and they all work fine. I have tried several different port numbers. I have gone to http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and checked to see if the port is open and it is. I then close Eventghost and test the port again and it shows the port closed. So I know the port is being forwarded through my router. I have set the logs on my router to high and tried and it does not show a dropped attempt. According to my router logs the connection is not even getting to the router. If I am connected through wifi and turn off the wifi Eventghost disconnects immediately. If I then close Eventphone and re-open it I immediately get a message that says network unavailable at the bottom of the screen. It doesn't even attempt to connect. I don't get the pop up error about checking the address and ports. I have an account through No-IP and have tried using this address as well as the physical WAN IP address. It almost seems like the app is sensing there is no internet connection and is not even trying to connect. I have turned off wifi completely rebooted the phone and then tried and still no connection. Anyone have any ideas what the problem may be? We have 3G in our area I just don't get it at my house. I may jump in the car and drive to where I get 3G and try that. Thanks for any help or tips anyone can offer. I do have internet connectivity through Edge on my phone I ran the port tests with Edge.

Okay so just to completely take the router and port forwarding out of the equation, I plugged my computer directly into my DSL modem which is in bridge mode. I then connect to the internet via PPPoe through windows. I put the IP address of my computer into the settings of Eventghost on my Iphone. I now have a 3G connection on my phone as well. I open Eventghost on my phone and it opens instantly does not even attempt to connect and it just says "Network Access Not Available!" at the bottom of the screen.

There has got to be something easy I am missing. I have tried this with my software firewall and windows firewall and my virus scan all shut off and I get the same thing.

Anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks

So I somewhat fixed the problem. My phone is jailbroken so I added Eventghost to the app 3Gunrestrictor and now it works. Is Eventphone supposed to work over 3G and Edge or is it yet another app that Apple will not allow to use 3G and Edge?

Sorry I missed this earlier. Yes you can use EventPhone over 3g/Edge if you are using EventPhone 1.4 or higher on the iPhone.

You simply need to go into EventPhone settings (where you set the IP and Password) and turn the setting "Allow WWAN" to ON. By default EventPhone is WIFI only but if you turn that setting on it will allow 3G/Edge to work to if you have your Port forwarding etc exposed to the Internet!
