Hey,
I recently installed Win 7 Final in a dual boot environment. The Win 7 RC installation is still there. I installed EvenGhost exactly the same way as I did on RC and I can access my current config file from both machines. Strange thing is that on the final windows my HID device - one of those fake MCE remotes - won't work properly. Only a few keys are recognized, a lot of the others aren't.
Not working keys: Play, Pause, Stop, Skip FF, Skip BW, Volume up and down, Mute (quite the standard controls)
The HID-device had been installed while the windows installation without any prompts - as far as I know there is no need for any drivers being dowloaded by win update for this.
So I am wondering what could have caused the harm. Any clues out there?
Ciao
Michael
Edit: I forgot to mention that I use the keyboard plugin to get mediaportal and pvd working with hid. Also it seems like I used a newer version of EG. Before 0.3.7.r1194, new install 0.3.7.r1076.

Re: HID working in Win 7 RC but not in Win 7 Final
Hi again,
seems to be a problem in EventGhost.
I went back to 0.3.7.r1076. There was no betterment. Then back to 0.3.6.1487 and everything is working fine.
So I think there's no reason to blame Win7 Final for this.

You also have the keyboard plugin activated in your config.
Did you mein the play, pause events of the HID-plugin (which would be HID.button.X) or the ones by the keyboard plugin?
I noticed a change in the behaviour of the keyboard plugin

Hi,
yes you're right I use the keyboard plugin. I added a Screenshot of the working
version. The keyboard plugin seems to be the problem.
I found a a post from LukeILM in the german section discussing that.

Don't know where the problem is.

As you say you have a MCE Remote, did you have a look at this -->New way to get MCE Remote signals in EG (for Vista/Win7)

Hey again topix,
I am using on of those cheep mce remotes, think it is called somesthing like 2nd generation. It only works via HID and not like most other mce via mce drivers. This thing is crap, any recommendations on an usb receiver working flawlessly with Logitech Harmony and EG/Mediaportal?

This remote is the one I used when I developed the Vista/Win7 service. Works well with my Harmony and EG. I don't use Mediaportal, so I can't speak to that.

Hi stottle,
thanks for your advice. It doesn't seem to be possible to get this one in Germany. But I'll keep looking.
