Eventghost and XBMC on remote Linux client

Post by arkania »

Folks,

Is there any way to send http events from eventghost to a remote client?

Here's what I'm trying to do:

I have eventghost running on a windows server. This controls my lighting system, stereo, etc.

I have an HTPC running XBMC on linux. Using XBMC's built in HTTP client, I can control it remotely. Is there a way for Eventghost to do this?

Basically I'd need to send a command like this:

http://10.100.8.143:8080/xbmcCmds/xbmcH ... =action(1)

Thanks!

My XBMCRepeat plugin can control any XBMC that is accessible through the network, just configure it with the correct IP address and any included actions should work.

It does not use the HTTP API but I assume it could be useful anyway :)
