Newbie needs some help with basic steps (USBIRT, Win7 MC,..)

Post by nikleb »

I decided to use eventghost for my new HTPC. I used to have Girder.
I have a USBIRT receiver and Harmony (Logitech) remote. Software: Win7 MC (with PowerDVD).

So far, I installed eventghost and enabled the USBIRT. I can see that events are received by event-ghost. I found on this forum the Win7 MC plug in. I added it and enabled it. That is where I'm stuck. What are my next steps? I'm guessing I have to pair my remote commands with the MC events somehow?

Exactly. Just drag and drop the event from the log to the macro in the tree.

take a look at a guide I made, it is a little dated but should help to get you started.

I must be doing something wrong.
So, I have the MCE plug-in. But in order to see all the "buttons" I need to add a macro for each button. After that I can drag the event from my remote to the macro and it works.
Shouldn't all the MCE buttons show up by default without requiring me to add the macros?
