Noobie Question...

Post by jmsnyc »

I did try and search for the answer but was unsuccessful and figured it would be easy enough to ask here.

I have a Hauppauge remote that works with an IR Blaster and Receiver that plugs into the tuner card. W7 Home Premium.

My remote has about 90% of the functionality I want. Can I use both the Hauppauge IR programs and EventGhost at the same time - in other words, have some buttons trigger EventGhost macros and other buttons continue to function as they do now under Hauppauge or if I go with EventGhost do I have to have all buttons/commands be handled by EventGhost?

Thanks.

you can use eventGhost for just a few buttons which you assign manually to whatever actions you want.

I don't know about your specific remote but the problem will probably be that while you CAN assign a few buttons to actions in eventGhost, you will not be able to disable the default functions for those buttons.

so you can add functionality to a few buttons, no problem... removing their old functionality is the problem. Like I said I don't know about your haupage remote, but maybe someone else can help. Is there an haupage forum thread here?
