Remapping MCE remote to keyboard buttons

Post by Bongu »

I apologize if this has been addressed but I'm new to EG and couldn't find it in my searching.

I am trying to remap buttons on my MCE clone remote to other keyboard presses to be used in XBMC. When I push the activity buttons, EG tells me that it is pressing 3 keyboard commands:

Keyboard.LCtrl
Keyboard.LCtrl+I
Keyboard.I

I then try to map Keyboard.LCtrl+I to a different keyboard letter using Emulate Keyboard - for example M.

However, if I do this, EG isn't recognizing M. It will if I put Keyboard.LCtrl as the key to emulate M, but not when I put the whole string. There are multiple buttons that use the Keyboard+LCtrl+letter and I want each to do a different command, so I can't just map Keyboard.LCtrl to M. Then I couldn't map Keyboard.LCtrl+O to letter I.

Does anybody know how I can get around this problem? Thank you.

try using the mceremote plugin (there is a special one for vista/win7 that can be found on the forums)

can you please specify what are "activity buttons"

what version of windows are you using?

can you give more information on what kind of "clone" remote you've got?
