ok, from what i read here it look like the warper i use to command bluetooth do not work in Windows 7 64Bits;
sorry, as soon as i have a little time i try a new code (idependent of bluetooth stack / base on hid device only), hope this to solve many bugs.

Thank you very much for creating this program. I hooked up my multimeter to my bd remote and I can confirm that when your plugin puts the remote to sleep the current drops from about 16 milliamps to 0.14 milliamps.

I am using Vista 32bit with the microsoft default stack. Eventghost 3.7.r1194 and I believe the latest ps3 plugin from this thread.

2 comments about the program:

1 - small text correction for you: "... minutes to whait before put to sleep" should be spelled "wait". Also I would phrase it like this: "minutes to wait before sleeping" or "minutes to wait before putting device to sleep"

2 - what is the meaning of the colours of the bluetooth icon in the notification area? At the moment my remote is "sleeping" and the icon is green. The way I see it the colours should work as follows:

Green - remote is on
Yellow - remote is sleeping
Red - process is not running (not started, stopped, or error)

Oh one other thing, I have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard on the same stack. If I keep using my mouse or keyboard will it stop my remote from going to sleep? I will try to test this myself.

edit: ok, the mouse and keyboard do not prevent the remote from going to sleep which is good, but when the remote is put to sleep, the mouse and keyboard are put to sleep as well.  BAD!  especially since my mouse and keyboard can take quite a while to wake up.  Any idea how to fix this?

Problem: If I use my BD remote to put my computer to sleep my remote will remain on, correct? Is there a way to detect when the computer is about to sleep and put the remote to sleep first?

Edit: ok, the remote seems to sleep when windows sleeps.  If I press a button on my remote while the computer is sleeping the amperage goes up to 22 milliamps (higher than when operating) so I guess it is doing a broadcast looking for the computer, but anyway it gives up after about a minute and the amps go back down to almost 0.

I have a problem with eventghost and my ps3 remote.
I have win 7 32 bit using microsoft bluetooth driver and the latest eventghost build r1436.
The problem is that every time i hit a button on my ps3 remote, eventghost get a double keystroke.
The problem is solved when i disable the plugin or use "trigger enduring events for buttons" mode under the plugin configuration.
But then i cant use all the buttons, some buttons like display do work and other like top menu doesn┬┤t.
What can i do?

Soon hope, the BDRemotePowerManager will support also Widcomm Bluetooth Stack (depend on 32Feet.Net: http://files.cnblogs.com/procoder/32fee ... oadcom.doc)
In some cases the application put to sleep remote after X min from Awake and not from last time a key was pressed (need more debug to see reason).
The icons are easy to mistake with bluetooth stack icon (If someone can help with a set of icons in 3 color all windows request dimension with Sony PS logo and / or Remote and / or Bluetooth)
Try to find a way to get last HID device input without disturb other applications access to resource, so i can read battery level (if someone can help, Please).
My English is very bad, so please correct me.

I have tested this program and I am looking forward to the final version. I can report that I do have this problem that the remote sleeps every "x" minutes whether I press buttons on the remote or not. So I may be in the middle of using the remote when it goes to sleep. Until you find a solution to this problem I would say that the program is not useful to me. If there is anything I can do to help you troubleshoot / debug please let me know.

I am using the microsoft stack and I have a keyboard and mouse on the same bluetooth dongle. These get turned off as well when the ps3 goes to sleep.
I mentioned in another post that the battery IS being saved when the ps3 sleep mode starts, because I measure the current though the device.

as for reading the battery level, any time the remote generates an event, the last digit of the code represents the battery level. I don't know if this helps you or not. The current ps3 plugin for eventghost uses this method to check the battery level. For me this value is not all that useful since it starts at 5 and dies at 3. At least I know if I am at 4 or 5 I am ok for a while.

I hope you can squash the bugs. Great program!

Works fine for me. Make sure you have checked "trigger enduring events for buttons" in the plugin settings page.

remarks:
the loop time is according to status of device (longer -60s when in "sleep mode" , shorter -20s when awake)
if u see a short black window flashing when try to run, this mean a exceptions is throw. Please open the application from a cmd/dos window and read (coppy and replay here the exceptions text).

this mean u use an application like HIP who block access to device so can't be put to sleep, to confirm this stop your application and try to run my app.

Maybe a stupid question. Do I have to use Eventghost in combination with this progam or can I use it as a standalone program?

i can write that your post is what i want to hear from long time.
1. a precision benchmark of app results, a drop in power consumption from 16 to 0.14 it is big (i not expect so good result) (if u can teach to me how to do this, it help in future developments)
2. a spelling check (10x, i request it long time ago) .
3. the color are connected power consumption ( green - low ; red - hi ; gray - not working), but your schema can work as well.
4. the 2 remarks are correct.

if some one can test power consumption when remote is connected to a ps3, to see if difference exist.

it is easy to measure current but you need to buy a multi meter of some kind. example:

you just need to attach the 2 connectors in series with the batteries of the remote.

I do not have a ps3 so I cannot help you with that measurement, but I suspect it would be the same.

Are you planning on updating the software soon so that it will only shut down when the remote is not being used? As it is, I am not using your program. It is too frustrating when the remote goes to sleep even though I am using it, but I am hoping that you will solve this problem soon. Let me know if I can help with testing, or anything else.

I was hoping someone else would give a more definite answer, but I think you can use this program without eventghost. Only thing is I think for most people it is not working so well yet.

I have a little problem with my PS3 Remote controller:

- If i check the "trigger enduring events" Checkbox, EG gets no Events from the PS3 Remote.

- If i check "using raw data as event name" i can clearly see each Keypress. What could be the problem?

My OS is Windows 7 64Bit
Bluetooth Stack is the "built-in" of Windows 7.
