Being written by Apple (I think?) they would have access to any private API's they want, without the risk of being rejected from app store.

We will keep an eye on brightness level change possibilities, but I am pretty certain that iPhone OS 3.1.3 and below didn't have this ability (check how the flashlight apps dont actually allow brightness control).

Good point, but those have an upper range limited by the system brightness, not sure about a lower range though. No big deal, bigger fish to fry anyway.

Send it on a serial join, and assign the same serial join to a text object on your GUI.
This is how to show any text data.

Do you have any examples of how this is done? I get the serial join part, but not how the EventGhost part. I am new to EventGhost and am finding it a bit of a challenge. Where do you get the RSS weather feeds? Maybe I need to take a few steps back and get familiar with EventGhost. As of now, I just hacked up your sample file, but it doesn't have things like time and weather linked to it. Hey, maybe you can add that to a sample file for novice users?

There should be an example in the example config file for sending a volume level on a serial join.

HIS / HERS setup?

I like a really condensed layout for efficiency, but the ladies tend to like a something simpler and more sparse. So could this be done in two separate instances of iViewer? I suppose you would need to submit another version so it wouldn't interfere with the existing instance. But Apple may not like that?

While I could incorporate it into a single instance, I am afraid it might slow down the app load times and reduce overall efficiency. Plus then you have more buttons to keep track of and more effort to set up the linking in the menus, etc. Just curious.

Jarrod, I will have a look at the volume controls and see what is going on there. I have them disabled now since I use the receiver master volume via IR. I think some good example in ghostevent for different things that I asking about would help promote the product. A lot of people may be turned off by the learning curve. The documentation is not that hot either, even though the program itself is to my liking.

Is there any chance you could add touchpad capability for the HTPC users out there? I am really liking this iPad but it's a pain to keep popping in and out of the app to access another touchpad app. Perhaps that could be a separate pay option?

It already has it. I control my HTPC via my IViewer interface & Eventghost.

I think we talking two different "touchpads". What I am referring to a touchpad mouse that work with a PC, specifically the HTPC. Is that you are talking about?

I can do some simple mouse things with ghostevent, but nothing fluid as a touchpad mouse.

For His/Hers control, you can use one of our OEM customers apps:
Depending what country App Store you use, search for CommandFusion and you will see a list of apps that are just rebranded iViewer apps.
They all load the same GUI files. iKontrol should show up world-wide (one of our OEM clients).

License is per device, so can run both apps on the one device with a single license.

How will OS 4 affect the capabilities of iviewer? What new features can we expect?

I havent had time to look into it in great details, but first thoughts are:
1. Connections will not remain active due to background apps not being able to maintain their network connections.
2. Switching back to iViewer will be quicker as we can persist the state. No more having to reload the GUI file from cache each time.
3. We are looking into a way to have your control system send updates to iViewer even when its closed via standard iPhone notifications. This would say allow you to get a msg when the doorbell rings, asking you if you want to view the camera footage in iViewer. Many other uses of course...
