You must edit the _init_.py file and add your devices BEFORE adding the plugin in eventghost

Edit RADIARA2_CONFIG

Format is 'INTEGRATIONID' : 'DEVICETYPE'

Edit RADIORA2_LOCATION

Format is 'INTEGRATIONID' : 'YOURDESCRIPTIONOFDEVICELOCATION'

Save and add the plugin in eventghost.

If you do not know the integration ID's of your RA devices telnet into your main repeater, login and enter #MONITORING,255,1

Now press a button on each device and record the first integer of the returned string.

Ra devices that work w/ this plugin
Maestro Dimmer/Switch
Wall Keypad
Main Repeater

Those are the only devices I have to test. I may add Sivoia QS Shades later when I install some.

Cool, products look very nice

Do they support two-way communication via the rf, i.e. can you interrogate the repeater and ask for all or individual device statuses?

(most rf controlled switches are only one-way which means you have to try to keep track of the current status in the sw)

Best regards, Walter

Yes Lutron RadioRa2 has a pretty complete communication protocol. You can interrogate the repeater, keypads, dimmers, switches ect ect.

attached is my living room remote screen for RadioRa. I took that shot while disconnected from the system. Normally, buttons where a light is on are illuminated.

If you are interested in RadioRa2 I can price it out for you and ship. I/we are a L1/L2 RadioRa certified (In addition to homeworks).

I can program the system remotely for you if you are up for installing it.

If you are within a reasonable distance from St. Louis we will install it as well.

I have a question about RadioRa2 in general. I'm looking into a Lutron system for my theater room and wanted some advice. The RadioRa series is what I'm currently looking at, but I wanted EG to interface with the system so with your plugin I'm now looking into the RadioRa2 system.

All I need the lights to do is be able to be controlled from a wall mounted dimmer, and then this dimmer needs to interface with EG some how so I can automate the light dimming depending on what activity I am doing (tv, movie, video game). What parts do I need other than a RadioRa2 dimmer do I need? The first get RadioRa has an rs232 interface, but I don't see anything like that for the second get system. Any advice?

Thanks.

EDIT: It looks like the Main Repeater and the dimmer are all I need for my single room. I may expand in the future, but not any time soon. Is there a place on the internet that I can order the parts I need?

The original RA you had to purchase a RS232 or ethernet interface seperately. The new RA2 main repeater has RS232 and TCP/IP integrated, an astronomic timeclock and more advanced features.

You can expand the system easily down the road.

You can send me a PM with your contact info and I can price what you need out for you.

I am, by no means, done with this plugin. I plan on writing a serial port version of it as well.

So, I'm guessing that your plugin uses the ethernet connection on the main repeater? That would be ideal, because I don't want to have to use too many com ports on my htpc. I only have two and one is on an expansion card. I have to use both port as my tv and receiver have to be controled via rs232. That is, unless someone has written a plugin to control a denon receiver via tcp/ip.

You have a pm.

You can expand serial ports easily w/ a guv-232a USB to serial cable for 15$

the plugin uses the Ethernet connection currently

@Fiasco,
Thanks m8, my current house is already wired up with Nexa stuff but for the next (house) something like radiora2 or zWave will be a better choice

BTW, I.m living in Stockholm, Sweden, it's a bit far away from St. Louis. I found out there are some installers offering the radiora2 here as well

Here is the current incarnation of my RadioRa2 iViewer interface.

The top six buttons are scene or raise/lower and the column of buttons is scrollable to reach any given control in the house. The button toggles off (button is transparent) or on (button is grean) or you can use the slider to the right to set the dimming level on any device.

Hi Fiasco,

I just bought a RadioRa2 RRD-6D dimmer and main repeater to play with as I'm thinking of installing it in my whole apartment.

I'm having having trouble getting my light to do anything though. I've 'added' the dimmer to my system and can get feedback via the RS232 and telnet connections when I dim my light up and down. But I cannot set a level remotely with the '#OUTPUT,5,1,100' command or even flash the light with the '#OUTPUT,5,5' command. I know the integration ID (5) is correct from the feedback when I manually dim up and down. The commands are either ingnored or I get a 'invalid action' message.

Are these commands 'locked' and not available to the home hobbyist??

Thanks!

When you telnet in to the repeater from terminal software, do you see the responses from the repeater? If not try
