I recently bought ASUS AT3IONT-I motherboard for light HTPC, and it came with simple remote and USB receiver. It was intended to run some media center that ASUS provides, but obviously my interests are going beyond that - I installed EventGhost and want to make a full use of the remote for different apps. I understand the concept of events, macros and scripts, can create and organize them, but it comes to the hardware communication.
Basically, right now I have two issues:
- When I connect the USB receiver and try to use Generic HID plugin, I have several devices listed (more info below). I want to understand how can I wrap it up the best way (more then one HID plugin?), especially if receiver is moved to another port.
- Some generic buttons are already mapped, and if arrows are ok with me, immediate response to power button is not something I want. How can I intercept this event from propagating to the system?
When I connect the receiver, I see following event in the log:
Code: Select all
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\USB#VID_0471&PID_206C#5&38c5a443&0&2#{a5dcbf10-6530-11d2-901f-00c04fb951ed}']

When I connect the receiver to another USB port, events are changing a bit:
Code: Select all
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\USB#VID_0471&PID_206C#5&38c5a443&0&1#{a5dcbf10-6530-11d2-901f-00c04fb951ed}']

System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\HID#VID_0471&PID_206C&Col05#6&703d699&0&0004#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\HID#VID_0471&PID_206C&Col06#6&703d699&0&0005#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\HID#VID_0471&PID_206C&Col01#6&703d699&0&0000#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']

And I want to intercept at least Power button events and instead of going to Suspend power mode, show a menu from OS Menu plugin first. 2.1) Is it possible at all?
I would appreciate full explanation or at least pointing to some reading/documentation on these issues, since my own search for resolutions came empty. Thanks!
PS. I have Windows 7 on the computer, if it matters.
