Hi
I have a Lenovo IdeaCentre D400 (a NAS device) and it has front button for special functions.
When I reinstalled windows home server I loosed the ability to use the button.
The name in device manager is Device Application Launch Button.
The device instance id (showing on device manager) is:
"ACPI\PNP0C32\2&DABA3FF&0"
This kind of hardware can be mapped directly to windows hotstart:
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/pl ... start.mspx
But this windows hotstart is for windows vista / windows 7. Windows home server is based on server 2003, so hotstart doesn't exist.
I tried to catch the event using eventghost with keyboard but nothing, the generic hid does not detect the button.
Is there a way I can get eventghost to work with this button?

you can try theLPT plugin,
just cut the printer cable in half. there are 25 pins, try making contact between 2 pins, there are 5 combinations you can use as input.
if eventghost is running with the LPT plugin and you make contact between the right pins eventghost wil get a event called "LTP PIN IN CHANGED IN".
its not very beautiful but this is a way to accomplish what you need.
