New to EventGhost, step by step please?

Post by Bioxid »

Hello, I am new to EventGhost but it looks like this may be what I need for Media Center.

I have:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition x64
Remote: VRC-1100 IR USB Remote (bought from eBay but find that the Ortek VRC-1100 is the same)
EventGhost_0.3.7.r1462

I was bummed when I tried to set up media center that it didn't detect my IR remote at all when setting up the TV portion in MCE. It does work ok with music.
Another thing is that the power button causes my htpc to turn off and not sleep, it would be nice to have control of both of those things.

Is that what EventGhost is for? Will it provide MCE with something to Detect?

What do I do step by step. I am experienced with windows (so something like install EventGhost is enough)...
What plug ins do I need, and how do I install them is what I am looking for I guess?

Any help with this would be appreciated, Thanks ahead of time :)

Go a google search for "EventGhost setup" and you should find what you're looking for.

Take a look at the Documentation and the Wiki.

Ok here is a config for media player classic it should give you a heads up on the power and config examples.. but you will need to download a couple of extra plugins to prevent errors with it.
