I have a PC Card remote that I use as a presentation backup, and would like to use it with VLC, in particular. Unfortunately, it isn't recognized by VLC - it works with WMP, but I don't like the Windows functionality and lack of easy extendability. I was hoping to use EventGhost to set up the remote to work with VLC. I know there is a VLC plugin for EventGhost, but I cannot get it to recognize the remote. I don't see it on the compatible list, either.
Is there any way to get EventGhost to recognize the Interlink remote? Even minimal functionality (play, pause) would be nice, though the remote can do most AV tasks in WMP. (I can control volume with it, but that is through the computer's volume control, not VLC.)

The remote probably works by emulating a keyboard, if so then the keyboard plugin works for most of the buttons and with Generic HID plugin you can get the play, pause etc media control buttons.
Thats just my 5 cents, I don't own one of these remotes..
PS. Did you have to install any drivers or software to get the remote to work originally?

I didn't have to install any additional drivers. It seems to be compatible with many apps for at least some functions. Thanks for the suggestion - I will try the keyboard emulation approach and see if I can get that to work.
