How can I have multiple Nexa transmitter triggering an EG macro.
My idea is to have multple cheap Nexa transmitters with uniq code on each button and have EG to select 1 macro from each uniq Nexa transmitter button.
EG sends the Nexa codes to all Nexa Switches thru Tellstic. (That part is already up and running)
I was looking at RTXCOM but could not find a plugin that decode the Nexa transmitter code to an event.
Another solution is to have a RF-IR pryamid as converter. But is there an IR receiver plugin tahat is able to decode the NEXA transitted code?
Regards

This is just because a newcomer might have difficulties finding the right things... but it is all here in the forum
For the RFXCOM

Re: Nexa transmitter to EG receiver
I ahve been looking at both solutions and realy do not like them. The main reason is that "stacking" alot of programs on top of each other creates a overoall solution that maintenance will be difficult in the future.
Is it overall possible to create a plug-in for RFXCOM to eventgost. Is there API availablle and coud this be possible for me to buy the work thru Rent-a-coder.com or similar sites?
I was looking at the xplmonkey and find the solution somehow difficult. Why do I have to use XPL as a generic protocol instead of having a plug-in directly to eventghost? Do I get any advantage to use XPL if I only use Nexa switches?
Could not a plug-in for eventgost be in the interest och RFXCOM to develop? I have seen many different solutions on the internet but all is based to have a "help-software-platform" to get events to eventgost. I belive a plug-in to eventgost will gain RFXCOM to be the only available HW to gain this type of cheep solution of multi-transmitter to a central homeautomation solution.
(maybe this should be moved på the "plug-in" section.. Moderator help me..

Re: Nexa transmitter to EG receiver
Everything is possible...
To develop a plug-in for RFXCOM is possible and would require access to the protocol under non-disclosure agreement with the supplier. They want it that way so I didn't ask for it even though I was told I could do so.
It would difficult to fulfill such an agreement because it is impossible to "hide" the protocol in a plug-in for EG since it's open source. One solution could be if RFXCOM provided a dll-file implementing and exposing a public open api
Altogether, when I found out about this and also discovered xPL and xplMonkey, I decided to make a RFXCOM plugin based on xPL instead
I have my system configured in this way (as well as with the NetHomeServer and another receiver/transmitter pair I built) and they are both working very stable
The drawback is of course that you have to track updates yourself. But hey, its all free!
If you are in no hurry and wait a while, there is something new cooking here that might fit your needs

An EG plug-in for this device is planned, release date for this as well as for the device is however unclear for the moment
Best regards, Walter
