Thanks, I tried everything on my side even uninstalled the latest version of OTSAV and went back to the same version I had on the laptop, in other words I am trying to have the same versions of OTSAV and EG on my desktop. Haing same versions on my desktop does not work, when I press buttons on the remote, the EG arrow in the system tray turns yellow and red. The RAC config in OTSAV shows port 8080 so that too should be ok? Then that only leaves the ip address issue as you've mentioned? I am not all that versed in the networking technical stuff so please bear with me. Please see the attached file if you will for a screenshot of my networking info and tell me if all is ok? If not, what would I need to do please? Thanks.

In your second post you write OTSAV RAC Port is 8080. The EG scripts are using port 80 (look at the first picture). So this might be the failure. Both settings must match.

The ip-address 127.0.0.1 means local host (the computer you are working on). If EG and OTSAV are running on the same computer, this is ok. Otherwise the ip address in the macros in EG must be changed to the ip address of the computer where OTSAV runs.

YOU THE MAN!! Changed the port to 80 and all works! Thank you very much! Only one minor issue I can't figure out, whenever I press button on the remote you hear a sound on the speakers so I exited the snapstream firefly software and the noise isn't there anymore but now the volume doesn't work, any ideas?

Is this Beyond media basic?
If you only use it for volume changing, you could do that with EG.

On both computers do you have the same setup? 'Firefly 1.2.1' or 'Basic Firefly Drivers'? On your desktop does the events for VolUp/VolDown appear in the EG log?

Snapstream Firefly software 1.2.1 on the desktop, only 'Basic Firefly Drivers' on the laptop. The events for VolUp/VolDown appear in the EG log, please see attached screenshot.

Do you really need it? If not, i would recommend to install only the 'Basic Firefly Drivers'.

They don't appear in the log (left side of the window).

All other keys are recognized and shown in the log window of EG? Does the events in the log match the ones in the configuration?

ok, according to your screenshot your Volume up key on the remote generates the X10.up event. You have to drag this event to your VolumeUp macro.

Do the same for Volume down: Press the key on the remote and drag the event from log to the volume down macro.
