Sorry, the documentation is pretty scarce in that respect.

I think this will be the easiest way is to use the webserver plugin. It generates events, so you can just use normal http requests to "send events".

If you are coding something and don't want to use the http protocol, then you could take a look at the network sender plugin's source for a reference how to duplicate it. Also the broadcast receiver, lirc-client and some other plugins work over the network, so you could use those..

Using the web interface stuff isnt a problem, as long as there is a way to send "events" to evenghost using a remote host =)

Is there any documentation on this somewhere then ? :) Finding documentation hard to find overall :/

Using the webserver should be pretty simple. Just load the Webserver plugin, set your http root to some directory (optional). You can also use basic http authentication.

To use it for example the following request (assuming localhost is the machine with EG on port 80):

http://localhost/?foo&bar&baz

generates an event like:

HTTP.foo with eg.event.payload set to ['bar', 'baz']

I didn't find much in the way of documentation for the webserver either, so I put up a wiki entry for it today at http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/webserver
