Close all other applications

Post by OdieGiblet »

I've got a bunch of applications that I like to control with EventGhost. And currently I have it setup like this..

Event.OpenApp1
Close App2
Close App3
Close App4
Open App1
Focus App1 //Just in case it was already open.

Event.OpenApp1
Close App1
Close App3
Close App4
Open App2
Focus App2

Is there an easier way to do this? I'd like a OpenThisAppAndCloseAllOthers command.

There is no easy way, because there's no way for EG to know which other programs you want to shut off. But do you really need to exit the other programs, or do you just need to not have them respond to events? Seems like you might be able to get the effect you are looking for with exclusion macros?

Yeah, probably don't neeeed to exit the programs. But they're all video applications. I don't want memory/graphics issues. I guess I'm just being an engineer. Any time I have to tediously copy and paste stuff I wonder if I can do stuff differently. ;) But my EventGhost is setup just how I want it right now. Thanks!
