synching streaming audio on multiple computers

I'm currently looking for a way to stream synched audio between two or more computers. It's kind of wishful thinking that someone could rig up a perfect sync using the eventghost networking plugin but if anyone got it working with eventghost or any other program I'm listening. The ideal would be the ability to make playlists played throughout a wireless network but I can't find anything that works well enough not to echo even on a wired.

Sorry if this seems unrelated but I figured I could at least get a direction by posting it here. The people in this site has programmed some amazing things.

I could image a solution with EG and Zoomplayer, where EG starts each track independently and monitors when a track has been completely played back via the ZP status codes. The sync would probably still be off a few milliseconds.
To keep long tracks in sync the sound has to somehow altered to compensate the different timings of each sound card.

I don't think this is possible with independent players. Such solution would need a special streaming protocol, that delivers a common time-base.

Yeah this is turning into a never ending search. I can't even find software that I would purchase that would perform this. I'm sure creating a common clock to keep two or more computers syched to as they play would be a chore considering the variety of audio hardware. I imagine even the type of speakers your using would come into play nevermind the soundcard. Let me know if you guys hear anything about this being done.

A couple of suggestions,

1) J River mediacenter can sync multiple zones. If you want to go all out you could use girger with the mediacenter plugin and netremote to control it.
2) look at the xlobby forum and search on multizone audio. There are a couple of solutions using winamp. Xlobby is a free front end for the HTPC community.
3) Also in the xlobby forum someone has implemented an alternitive solution using winamp and the kx mixer to control zones. He built a skin for music playback.

well I have examined the xlobby set up and this requires a soundblaster card and preamps with kx drivers. I was looking for synching two computers across a network although synching multiple sound cards on one computer would be a start this is not going to occur with my hardware since I have realtec integrated on my asus-a8n-sli.
