First of all this is a fantastic little program thanks. I have made a small donation.
I have a Gyration remote with the following software stack.
- EventGhost 0.3.7.r1076
- Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit with SP1
I am using the Generic HID plugin set to Gyration Remote.
The thing is I get all button events in the log as expected appart from the Green Button, the five buttons at the bottom, the connect, setup, dvd, input buttons and the button with the small tv set and play button picture.
Any idea why I am not receiving these events? I want to use these buttons to start XBMC, go to settings etc.

Hi Richo, I was going to point you to a post about this very same topic that was made some time ago but I can't seem to find it anymore. As I remember it, the final conclusion was the OS doesn't see these buttons pressed unless your running the Gyration software. I didn't have the software to test this theory so I'm not positive this is the case.
I do remember that the OS never saw the green button but would see some of the five on the bottom depending on what remote codes you had loaded into it, but there were still some buttons that were never seen. I even went as far as to document which codes activated the most buttons but I don't have that info anymore.
I eventually settled on using the smaller and lighter gyration remote with only the basic volume and transport buttons. Every button on this one is seen by EG, even the big green one.
Sorry I couldn't be more help but we never did find a way to get all the buttons seen by EG.

Oh, one more thing, some of the other buttons you asked about don't send anything to the computer. The input buttons simple change what remote codes are loaded in the remote and the connect button is to sync with the receiver.

What Gyration Software are you mentioning below. I had a look on their site and did not see any software.
Can you actually program the buttons for the PC remote functions (i.e. the RF interface), I thought you could only do that for the others (i.e. IR interface).
Also the I would have thought that the OS must get the green button event in some way else how does it know to start VMC...

I managed to get this working by adding two Generic HID plugin's. One configured with the first Gyration device in the list and the other with the last. All my buttons apart from the four in the middle (which spectre explained are remote programming buttons) now give events I can bind to, even the green button!

It doesn't appear to be creating tasks in the log anymore tonight... Let's assume I can't get the gyration remote to work. What would be the best ir remote to purchase (not overly expensive) with receiver that would be capable of sending commands through the plugin, while NOT affecting windows (so I can use other programs on primary monitor while using remote to control XBMC on HDTV). Thanks for the effort!
