how to trigger a macro based on the entry of a text string

Post by dmehling »

I want to know how to trigger a macro if a certain string of text is detected. Once a string is entered, it would need to be analyzed somehow. If it was compared with a specific string I had specified and it matched correctly, then I would want it to trigger a macro. Where would I enter in the text? Any ideas on how to create this macro script?

I don't know if this is possible with EventGhost only.

But I know a scripting program AutoHotkey that seems to do what you want with hotstrings, you could combine it with EventGhost to get the functionality you want.
