MCE + EventGhost = Problems touch caption

Post by bredin76 »

Hi every one.

As you can see it's my first post. As you can guess i'm a newbie in using EventGhost. As you could guess, i'm french, so i'm sorry if my english is not perfect.

Yesterday I installed Eventghost in my computer, ( WIN 7 ). I wanted to use my MCE remote for controlling my PC.
Like i had see in the documentation, i installed the plugin MCE. It was my first difficulty. Eventghost send me an error that it couldn't modify the MCE remote HID. I guess it was because eventghost didn't have administrator autorisation.
So i launch it in administator mode by a CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER in launching menu.
It solve this first error.
But since, when i click in any touch of my remote, nothing happen. No log in Eventghost.
I try launching it in administrator mode => nothing more.
I spent a long time yesterday searching in the forum or in internet, but nothing helped me.
That's the reason why i have decided to post something by my own.

Can someone Help me?

You either need to run with Administrator privilege AND with UAC turned off, or use this other plugin.

No, the new one should be MceRemote_Vista. You should delete MceRemote and just use MceRemote_Vista. When you install the plugin, it will give you the dialog with "install" and "delete" buttons. Click install, and you will need to restart your machine for it to work.
