I'm using EG 0.3.7.1562. windows XP.
I configured the webserver plugin, set up a page with an area map for my remote (see below),
and configured its events to macros.
I then stopped EG, and started it again. However, now I don't get any HTTP events from the webserver plugin.
I know the webserver is up, since the browser clicks load the page with the new event code.
Any ideas?
Edit: I restarted my system, but the problem persists. First click on the remote page issues
an event, following clicks do not issue any HTTP events in EG.

webserver problem
Re: webserver problem
Well, I started debugging webserver, and from what I see, the fault is probably the browser's.
It seems that safari on the ipad caches pages. e.g caches my remote.html?back page,
so when I hit the link again, it does not issue a get request to the webserver, and although the
page seemingly loads fine, it does not generate an HTTP.back event at all.
Any ideas how to make the browser send all get requests to the server? (or a suggestion to a forum where I can ask this?)
Thanks,
Dan

Re: webserver problem
I solved my problem by creating some asynchronous http-javascript, that should work in most any new browser.
Add this to the head of your page
and then for the href, use
In this way, the page doesn't reload when pressing a button, and hopefully, the XMLHttpRequest isn't cached (since it is supposed to be used for Ajax-requests)
Add this to the head of your page
Code: Select all
<script type="text/javascript">
function asynchButton(button){
var req = new XMLHttpRequest();
req.open("GET", "?"+button, true);
req.send();
}
</script>
Code: Select all
<a... href="javascript:asynchButton('myEvent')" >
Re: webserver problem
Thanks, I'm going to try this.
I solved the caching problem using an http-equiv expires=-1,
and the page reloading using jsquery/ajax. But your solution looks much slimmer and more elegant.
BTW, I uploaded my project to google-code at http://code.google.com/p/eventghost-web-remote/
