Does eventghost trap IR signals?

Hi.
I have XBMC running on my win7 x64 computer on the second monitor. Everything is great so I want to add my Logitech Harmony remote to it. I have bought a USB IR recorder but it hasn't arrived yet.
I was wondering, when I get it connected, I'll set up my logitech remote as a mce remote which means it emulates those remote codes which eventghost will log and then attach them to macros for XBMC. My question is will eventghost trap the IR signals and not let windows interpret them as well or will they continue on and work on windows as well.
Nb: I don't have wmc on my pc but I don't want the IR codes to clash.

Also would an option be to set up the logitech as something I don't have in my home theatre such as a panasonic tv (as I use a samsung) and use those codes as they should be redundant.

For Vista/Win7, you should download/use this plugin instead of the one that comes with EG. The one that comes with EG requires you to run as an administrator and turn off User Account Control (UAC) or else it won't work.

The one I linked will also pass non-MCE codes (such as your panasonic codes) to EG's decoder so you can indeed use them, the version the comes with EG only recognizes MCE codes.

Both plugins will disable the OS's handling of IR codes once they are installed (a reboot of the machine is required).
