I present to discuss the promised list of plugins that are currently not included in the installation file.
It is possible that:
1. The list is not comprehensive (I could easily miss a post)
2. I put a plugin into the wrong category
3. Some plugins already included in the installation file and I have not noticed it.
I please to notice any shortcomings.

It is clear that incorporate so many new plugins into the installation file, would not be beneficial.
I suggest this method of decision:
1. Everyone can give one positive or a negative vote to any (even all) of these plugins
2. After three weeks, we count the votes. Any plugin that will be more positive than negative votes will be saved to a temporary SVN branches and incorporated into the installation file.

Of course, you can suggest a different method of decision.

I'd like the MceRemote_Vista plugin (here) added.

To be honest, I think that we have a handful of regulars, but aside from them there aren't a lot of people watching these threads. So I think the response here will be limited (I hope I'm wrong). I think you (Pako) should add any plugins you think should be added. Any plugins requested by users with more the 10 posts (or maybe just anybody) should also be added as well. When you have a version on SVN you want me to build, just let me know.

Positive vote for these:
Remote Plugin for TechnoTrend TV card remotes
Remote event mapper
XBMCRepeat XBMC plugin based on the official plugin (I might be biased)

If XBMCRepeat is to be added I feel it should be named XBMC2 or something as XBMCRepeat was just a quick name to separate it from the default XBMC plugin.

I ask out of ignorance, but should the XBMCRepeat plugin replace the EG XBMC plugin? That is, instead of having two plugins, just have jonib's.

My votes;
+ XBMC Repeat plugin. I agree with stottle -- it would be better if we replace the old one with jonib's XBMC Repeat plugin.
+ Remote event mapper

I looked at the number of download for some of the plugins and these ones seem quite popular, so it would make sense to include them on that basis:
+ KMplayer
+ Samsung TV's
+ Soundgraph iMON HID
+ Dynamic Webserver

Possibly VMC and MCE Beta plugins should be included also, but since I don't use either of them I'm not sure if they work straight-out-of-the-box for most people or do they require additional software / setting up?

I would also like to see an updated version of the sony ps3 bd remote plugin.

Add my vote for the mce/vista/win7 remote.

I wonder if the new xbmc plugin still uses the xbmc eventclient / eventserver mode. If if doesn't then maybe we should keep both. In other words, the old xbmc plugin should only be replaced if it is fully contained within (i.e. a subset of) the new xbmc plugin.

I think the new plugin uses the http api to add more command flexibility and maybe is moving to using JSON for some commands, but the eventclient mode for buttons used in the older version uses udp broadcasts and is supposed to be much faster than using the webserver for simple button / key presses.

Thanks Pako

I only see two things to consider if to replace the old XBMC plugin with my XBMCRepeat plugin.
People using the old plugin would get a bunch of errors, that they might not know is because the plugin has changed when updating EventGhost.
People might perceive my plugin more complex to configure because it's different and has a lot more actions.
I don't know if these concerns are real.

My XBMC plugin is using the eventclient mode for the normal buttons/actions same as the old plugin. So it's a non-compatible super-set.

Yes I'm working on HTTPAPI and JSON, but those are only extensions, unless XBMC stops supporting the eventclient mode. And I will try to support all ways for external control that XBMC allows.

excellent. Well, then it seems obvious that your new plugin should replace the old one!

I think those should be bundled with eg :
X10 CM11a
XBMCRepeat
xPL
RFXCOM for xPL
Scheduler
Dynamic Webserver

Although I am the author of the ping plugin, I don't think it shoud be added because both versions have some serious problems. I am currently rewritting it as an external app (release planned soon)

Regarding the Dynamic webserver, it should replace the actual webserver which is more limited. But it would be great if a skilled python develloper could make it faster and explain precisely how to have special chars in the html files. I never managed to get it working with accentuated chars.

Also, recently, I posted in the general forum a new plugin : TCPEvents. I think it could replace the network event sender and receiver. It has been designed to be fully compatible with the old network event receiver/sender. It can do more things. It will have its corresponding class in C# and probably in Java.

Finally, I would like to thank you pako for your great work to keep eventGhost alive.

a little off topic (sorry) but that sounds great, especially the concept of providing a c# class. Any eta on that? It would be lovely to have this as part of the standard package if it is stable.

It's currently running. The code needs a little clean up. At the moment I am running it in my prod conf and wait for it to crash ! If it doesn't happen shortly, it will be released inside my Ping App in the next days.

I've been wondering what the XBMCRepeat plugin is, will try tomorrow.
For my the XBMC plugin bundled with EventGhost works flawless.

+ OnkyoISCP (i'm biased  )
+ newer version of PS3 BD Remote (I'm getting errors now and then)
