Gyration gyr3101 remote

Post by Argon »

Hello,

I have a Gyration GYR3101 remote (RF) http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Mad2bxvnD9A/TQtYu ... 132904.jpg
If i use Eventghost to map keys in XBMC, some of the buttons just don't work.
If i press on 1 or 2 or 3 or... Eventghost doesn't receive anything. Also the red, green, yellow and blue button isn't working.
Volume up/down, play, stop, record,... works perfect.

What is the problem?
Sorry for my bad English !

Hi!

You have to add the 7 HID plugins to use the all the Gyration's buttons with Eventghost.

The Gyration emulates keyboard strokes for numbers and arrows. You have to add the keyboard plugin too in Eventghost to see them as event.

After that, if you have other signs instead of numbers, try with Caps Lock On.

Hello,

I add the "Plugin: Keyboard" and then the red, green, yellow button works. But if I press a numeric key (1, 2, 3,...) Eventghost freezes...
I have to hard shutdown Eventghost every time.

Somebody has a solution or idea?

The colored buttons should not require the keyboard plugins to work (only Gyration HID).

Eventghost never crashed on my computer because of my Gyration... I don't understand what happens.
When you press on numbers, is there any error messages on the left panel ?

No, i only see that Eventghost registred the button "Keyboard.1" and then it freezes.
If i restart Eventghost and I push on number 2, i see in the log "Keyboard.2" and it freezes again.

Windows 7 ultimatie 32bit.

Can you maybe send your xml file so i can compare?

keyboard.1 and keyboard.2 are correct events, I have the same.
(i have Win7 64bit)

- if you press numbers on a keyboard (instead of the Gyration), is it freezing too ?
- and if you disable the keyboard plugin, no freeze at all ?

Hello,

Now it works (don't know why ... :) )

Next problem: I can typ text (sms style) and then i see a blue screen and yellow letters with my typed text. But how can I "enter" this text into notepad, xbmc,...
I assigned a key to multitap: Enter, but the text stays in the blue screen...

Here you can see my eventghost file:

Hello iolivier,

Finally, I made it ! Thank you.

Did you use this remote with XBMC? The only thing thats a bit foolish:
I search for music (example: Madonna) and then i press the "Enter" button. XBMC finds the music and I can listen to it.
If i want to make a new search, i went to "Search" and "Madonna" is still in the search. I have to go manually to the button "Backspace" to remove "Madonna" in the search bar, and then press in my new search.

do you have the same "problem"?

No, I nerver searched for "Madonna" on my computer.

But yes, XBMC keeps the last request.
And yes you have to click on (or emulate) "Backspace" to erase it.
