Re: Voting - plugins not included in the installation file
EDIT 2011-02-10: All links to old forum http://www.eventghost.org/forum/ changed to new forum http://www.eventghost.net/forum/
I deliberately waited a week longer than was agreed.
Here is a list of selected plugins:
Remote Receivers:
Mce remote for Vista and Windows 7 (new way)
Remote Plugin for TechnoTrend TV card remotes
CM11A X10 (serial)
Program Control:
XBMC Event Receiver
XBMCRepeat XBMC plugin based on the official plugin
Windows Media Center (MCE)
Weather Information
External Equipments:
Homeseer
Homeseer Plugin
OnkyoISCP plugin
Samsung TV's
Cambridge Audio amplifiers
LG 42PQ10, 50PQ10, 50PS11, 60PS11, 42PQ12, 50PQ12 plugin
Rain8
xPL
RFXCOM for xPL
Other:
TCPEvents
Process monitoring plugin
Remote event mapper
SchedulGhost
Scheduler
SunTracker - with moving ghost
Ping
Dynamic Webserver (variable processing)
Please check if I forgot any plugin.
Even I was not completely idle.
I tried to find a way to copy the SVN repository of EventGhost (of course including history) on SourceForge.
Unfortunately, I did not find any way. Is there someone who knows how to do it?
Perhaps the problem is my poor English.
But we do not have to go to sourceforge. We can use GitHub.
I learned how to work with GitHub and I managed to do the import.
Here you can see the entire history of the EventGhost development .
What is your opinion on this? From this moment we will only use GitHub?
Or we still use the current SVN repository and someone will help us to exporting it to sourceforge?

Dear Pako,
I think Rain8 needs to be removed from your list, it's currently just a proto Livin and I started to discuss long time ago.
Best regards, Walter

@Pako: have you used github's svn import method?
It's better to checkout the subversion repo locally, then use git-svn to convert it because you can specify an author file that contains the users name an his email address.
If the email matches a users github account it's then automatically linked on the webpage.

Yes, I used svn2git tool.
I used the author file, but with a fictitious e-mail addresses (except mine).
There are several authors whose address I do not know.
But I think it does not matter. Even so, you can see the entire history of all revisions with the author nickname.

Re: Voting - plugins not included in the installation file
Can you list the authors so they can add their email addresses?
Once the conversion is done it's much more work than now.

Re: Voting - plugins not included in the installation file
Bitmonster was suggesting using svnsync to copy the version control history. I think you just need the sourceforge credentials (he said he set you up as an administrator) to copy the data. There may be something specific to sourceforge though.
For what it is worth, I would much rather stick with SVN, as the tools are already set up to work with it, and I've never used git. If someone else wants to do the builds, I'm good with that, too.

A regular svn repo checkout is enough to run git-svn.

Dear Pako,
"Homeseer" and "Homeseer Plugin" are the same but we should only keep "Homeseer Plugin" (new)

That's what i did today. But ATM the SVN on Sourceforge isn't online because of a net-attack.stottle wrote:Bitmonster was suggesting using svnsync to copy the version control history.

Re: Voting - plugins not included in the installation file
Yes, I would also prefer to stay at SourceForge. I know that svnsync should be used. I tried it already (from 2011-01-22). But I have a problem. As the original SVN is not blank (there are revisions 1 - 939), I can not successfully execute svnsync init (I get the message Cannot initialize a repository with content in it).stottle wrote:Bitmonster was suggesting using svnsync to copy the version control history. So it is necessary to reset of the repository. And here I do not know what to do next.
I tried to read Subversion repository administration and the repository must be dumped and filtered, but with my poor English is it hard.
Can anyone help?
Looks like I'll need SSH access to the repository, but it is now unavailable due net-attack.
I'm sorry, but I'm not understand your post (my poor English ...). Can you please write in other words?abraxxa wrote:Can you list the authors so they can add their email addresses?

@Pako: try translate.google.com
I'm not familiar with svnsync but it sounds like you have to run svnsync init to create the cloned repository, not inside the one you want to clone, that would destroy all commits!

Re: Voting - plugins not included in the installation file
Pako,
I think the best option is to delete the 0-939 repo on sourceforge. My thinking is that those changes should be in the repo at eventghost.org already. We won't lose any information once svnsync is run successfully. If anyone else disagrees, speak up, but I'm not sure how else to run svnsync.
I found these two links about admin on sourceforge:
Howto reset an svn repo (from this page):
There's more detail on this page as well (which you already found). I think the key is that you need to use the SF tool adminrepo.
I hope that helps/works. Thanks for all of the hard work.

Resetting a repo (starting from scratch)┬Â
1.Discuss your proposed changes with your Project Team.
2.Backup your current Subversion repository.
3.Connect to our Shell service
4.adminrepo --checkout svn will create a clone copy of your repository in /svnroot/PROJECT.
ÔùªUse adminrepo --help for further information.
5.Create a new repository:
a.Remove the clone copy of your repo with rm -rf /svnroot/PROJECT/*. Be very careful with this.
b.Create a new repository with svnadmin create /svnroot/PROJECT
6.Save your changes using adminrepo --save svn. I hope that helps/works. Thanks for all of the hard work.
