EventGhost, Harmony Remote, and USB-UIRT question
EventGhost, Harmony Remote, and USB-UIRT question
I have not seen any reference to the Logitech Harmony remote line. Can EventGhost work in conjunction with the Harmony software? Or do I just ignore the Harmony software for my PC control and get a IR transmitter for the USB-UIRT I am using? I am new at this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Harmony software is only needed to teach the remote the IR codes for your equipment. It has nothing to do with control of a PC through a remote.
You don't need an IR transmitter, you only need an IR receiver. The USB-UIRT is both.
So to resume it, you need:
1. An IR remote. The brand doesn't matter much (so any Harmony will do).
2. An PC-IR-Receiver, like the USB-UIRT.
3. A program that has adequate support for the IR receiver like EventGhost.
