What is the purpose to do this?
Please look at topic The EventGhost project is looking for translators! (especially the end). I think it can be used as an explanation. Okay?
krambriw wrote:And what can cause problems?
I'd maybe try to do this:
1. Take the strings name and description (which are now in the class text) and put them where they should be.
Class eg.PluginBase not need to duplicate definitions. Suffice it that it is within eg.RegisterPlugin.
2. assigning text = Text to keep only inside of eg.PluginBase class (inside of class eg.ActionBase to cancel).

I think the only point 2 is important.

Hello Pako,
Thanks, I managed to fix one of my plugins so far but have big problems with another one (SunTracker). The editor do not even start....
Are there an logfiles generated that shows the problem?

Best regards, Walter

Hi Walter !
Yes, that possibility is there.
You can (together with the argument -translate) use also the argument -debug.
But the truth is that quite often there can not find anything.
However, in the case SunTracker it seems that you're lucky.

Dear Walter!
I was looking at changes in the plugin RFXcom.
Your solution is, so to speak, very atypical.
I have a concern that in the future could be problems.
Please see and try out my edits.
__init__.py
Plugin RFXcom_xPL - test version
(24.74 KiB) Downloaded 197 times
I think something like this should be.
Can I use this? Or do you insist on your solution?

Dear Pako!

Your suggestion is fine, I will adopt this to my other plugins too, thank you very much for this advice. I did not know it was so critical since the plugins worked ok otherwise.

If you give me a little time more, I can take your version and make final adjustments -> then put it in the thread for the plugin

Sure, no problem. I think that one or two extra days will not matter.
I still have to wait some time if miljbee and Fiasco make a fix of their plugins TCPEvents and LG_Plasma. I sent them PM.

Dear Pako,
I have updated SunTracker and RFXcom_xPL accordingly. I hope I have made also the SunTracker acceptable. I have tried them with -translate switch and they work. They are both uploaded in the normal plugin threads.
Thanks for helping me out Pako!

I announce the deadline for changes to the plugin:
Tomorrow, 2011-02-18 08:00 UTC.

Any changes made after this date will be contained in another next build.

We still have to figure out a way how you will inform me that some changes have been done.
I can not guarantee, that I will see everything. It's not my project, so I'm not against it, that all authors had access to the SVN repository.
It just does not seem reasonable. If there prevails the idea that it was meant to be, then I will enable this access.
I am inclined to think that we must work on the way, which Bitmonster started preparing earlier.
So that the installation file was just basic stuff and everything else that users download it on demand.
There has to work both: developers of EventGhost and webmaster.
Maybe something similar can be found in other projects.
For example, this looks pretty good: http://www.samurize.com/modules/mydownloads/
But maybe someone here knows an even better example.

I also update the plugin thread so people see that a new version is available.
