Directory Watcher on network drive problem

Hello,

I've been using a combination of event ghost and belvedere(which I think I found out about, and set it all up based on searching this forum). The set up works great but occasionally eventghosts fails to detect activity on the network drive that it is monitoring. It seems to work great when the program is first run, but if it sits idle for a while, or perhaps there is an interruption in the network and it fails to reestablish a connection?, and does not detect new activity in the folder.

Here is my set up.

I have windowsxp running inside a virtual box running on ubuntu 9.10. I have a partition on one hard drive inside the linux system that handles new downloads from torrents for tv shows. I use utorrent in the virtual box to download the shows, then once the downloads are complete they are moved to a new directory for seeding. Belvedere looks for newly created files in that directory and copies them to another temp folder, from there it does another check and moves just the tv show video files into a second temporary folder leaving any unwated files in the first folder. Evenghost watches this secondary temp folder for newly updated or created files then runs therenamer on that directory which renames and moves the files to a raid setup on that same linux machine. The network is bridged between the virtual box and the linux connection, so I'm not sure what would cause a hiccup in the network connection between these two locations if that is in fact the problem.

I used a script I found on this forum (http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... ry+watcher) for eventghost/directorywatcher plugin combo and it works great, except for this little problem. I'm tempted to maybe extend the drive in the virtual box so everything is handled inside the box right up to the point where it renames and moves everything to the raid storage. But I'd like to be sure this is in fact the problem before I try to do this.

I'm no expert, and everything I've managed to set up thus far has been with the help of tutorials and forums like these.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry no, I've never resolved this issue. I've just been living with it. It seems to be happening less frequently. It seems to only occur to me if the network bridge between my virtualbox is interrupted. And that only seems to happen if it's downloading at excessive speeds. Then I typically just reboot the box and everything works again for a while.
