Keyboard plugin not picking up VNC keystrokes

Post by mickelin »

Hi,

I have a bunch of macros tied to the F-keys. Works beautifully on the local keyboard, but when I try to use them remotely through a VNC connection, the remote keystrokes are not picked up by the keyboard plugin. Instead they are passed directly to Windows, so that for instance remote F1 brings up the EventGhost help page. I'm pretty sure this worked before, but I'm not 100%. I'm using UltraVNC.

Any ideas or workarounds?

Found a workaround, or in fact a better solution. The use case is to manage TV Guide recordings in MediaPortal remotely. I tried the EventPhone app/plugin and it worked straight away. So now I setup a VNC connection on my iPad to see the screen and use EventPhone as a remote on my iPhone to navigate. Perfect! (as long as I have both devices on the road...)
