controlling XBMC and WMC with PS3 remote

Post by ethereal »

hello there.

i have successfully controlled XBMC and WMC individually but i wish to controll both (but not at the same time)

my green button closes xbmc - and starts a batch file which closes eventghost and starts it again with my WMC.xml

my blue button closes WMC - and starts a batchfile which closes eventghost and starts it again with my XBMC.xml

it may sound complicated but it works very well - the only problem is eventghost icons get left over in the system tray after the batch file has run - the more i switch between the two, the more icons i get - how can i stop this happening or can i get something to clear them automatically? the rogue icons disappear when you put a mouse over them but i am trying to get away from the mouse, i am trying to get things as seamless as possible - just press the green or blue button

thank you

Well I would look at the Example.xml example config that's included with EventGhost, it shows how to control different applications without having to restart EventGhost with different configs.

How are you closing EventGhost? as I don't think the icon should be left if you close it properly. I have seen posted a command to close EventGhost via an action that shouldn't leave the icons here.

thanks a lot - as you can probably guess i never looked at the example - i'll have a look tonight.

i was using tskill in a batch file to close eventghost - i don't suppose it is the proper way to close it as it leaves icons behind - i had 14 last night :D
