Hi, Im running the latest beta of EG (0.3.6.1480) on XP pro with S/Pack 2.
I have just bought a Win TV nova S2 DVB-S2 pci card which comes with a Hauppage remote.
The application IR32.exe that came with this is installed and following instructions on the forum, i have removed IR32.exe from the start up menu. (it no longer starts with XP)
I have enabled the Hauppage remote plugin and i can see that buttons pressed on the remote show up in the logger window.
My desire is primarily to open/close and navigate DVB viewer pro and Power DVD (although I have PDVD8 Ultra and not 7 as the pluggin title suggests)
To this end I have enabled the DVB viewer plugin and the power dvd plugin.
I have started with getting DVB Viewer.exe opening from the remote as a first off, however, i cannot get it to work, or understand what i need to do with EG.
I was assuming that because I have the dvbviewer pluggin installed and I can already see that the configuration has a macro entitled "start DVB viewer" that what i needed to do is;
1) press a key on the remote such as TV button (this shows in the logger)
2) drag & drop the event that shows in the logger to the DVB viewer config macro of "Start DVBViewer" and then that "TV" key would be assigned to that macro/action and dvb viewer would open.
What am I missing?? (Something obvious knowing me).
I thought perhaps the keys are already assigned in the plugin and I just need to find what they do but none of the remote keys do anything with DVB Viewer but they will all register in the logger.
Thanks in anticipation of help.
edit:- the only errors showing in the log are - 1) error starting pluggin-x10 remote and 2) no x10 recievr found
edit2 :- Ok, im still playing with it. I tried adding a new macro (start DVB viewer.exe) and then dragged a keypress event over to my new macro---sucess, dvbviewer opened up, so, i still don't understand what the "pre-configured" dvbviewr plugin macro's are for and how I can use them. am i gonna have to create all my own??

Newbie, please help me get started.
Re: Newbie, please help me get started.
I have found the problem as to why the DVB viewer pluggin macro's were not working, the DVBviewer folder had a big red cross through it. Once I enabled the folder it seems to be controlling the program ok and i can assign keypresses from the logger.byngo wrote:

Can someone answer my new question please,
....Once I have Dvbviewer set-up i will move on to powerDVD.
From the guide, i think i need to use "exclusives" and / or a "switch mode" pluggin so that the remote buttons will either be controlling DVBViewer or Power DVD, i assume this enables one folder whilst disabling others. Or do i not need to do that at all??
Could i have some more guidance than that in the wiki please.

Hi
Sorry to open an reply/old post, but I need to know what you did...
I have setup DVBViewer fine, and PowerDVD fine, but I need EG to only control the application that has windows focus, or is currently running...
EG _ I dont want DVBViewer to appear when I press pause watching a movie in PowerDVD....
Presumably EG knows the difference between DVBViwer application (sometimes running) and DVB Recording Service (always running)?
THanks
Tony
