NotifyIcon - system tray balloon

Post by flobias »

1. My EventGhost version: EventGhost 0.4.1.r1540
2. My Windows version: W7 ServicePack 1

Hello,
I have a question about creating a ÔÇ£NotifyIconÔÇØ.
To explain: A ÔÇ£NotifyIconÔÇØ is system tray balloon which appear e.g. if you plug in a USB-device.
Image
Just an example

Is it able to generate a ÔÇ£NotifyIconÔÇØ by EventGhost?
Maybe even with the distinction between:
  • warning
    informaion
    error
Maybe someone can answer this question.
A small example would be great.

Thanks in advance

And you have a good reason why the information must have precisely this form (System tray baloon)?
After all, you already can use plugin Growl and notification can look even better.
BTW: In another similar plugin I am currently working on (Snarl).

While the Growl plugin does add more functionality, it requires the installation of Growl. A system tray balloon is perfect for users that don't need as much functionality and don't want to install more software. I try to install as little as possible on my HTPC - many have the same attitude of "less is more" :)
