HELP - EG with MCE Remote and XBMC

Post by smg669 »

Hi,

I've got a Mediagate MCE remote running with XBMC. I couldn't get the XBMC to map to many of the buttons using just XBMC "out of the box". Most buttons/commands would work, but things like the red/green/yellow/blue buttons seemed unmappable. When I use EventGhost with the MCE and XBMC plug-ins, I can successfully map certain buttons on the Medigate remote to XBMC commands. However, when I do this the native XMBC/MCE Remote commands are gone. I have to map every single button manually in EventGhost to make the remote work (including the up/down/left/right/enter buttons on the remote. This works to a point, but the up/down buttons need to be programmed with a "repeat while pressed" command from within EventGhost. This behavior is not a smooth as the native link between these buttons and XBMC before EventGhost gets installed. If I hold down the "up" button on the remote, the menu scrolls for a bit in XBMC and then just stops. I have to release and press the "up" button again to continue scrolling. This is annoying, especially when scrolling through a long list.

Is there a way to keep the native MCE remote/XBMC links intact and just program the stuff in EventGhost that I needs (i.e. the red, green, blue, yellow buttons, etc.). I had it working this way for a bit, but now when the computer rebooted all of the buttons on the remote that aren't specifically programmed into Event Ghost are no longer working.

Thanks for any assistance!
