Winamp detected as "task.activated.desktop"
Winamp detected as "task.activated.desktop"
Hi,
I often use "task.activated" events.
Most of my software are detected in eventghost with their names: task.activated.mpc-hc or task.activated.xbmc ..etc..
But winamp is detected as "task.activated.desktop".
I use winamp with bento skin.
Thanks for your help.

What is the question?
(i didnt see one)
But anyway...
Could you try looking for window/winamp?
And go/do from there.

Re: Winamp detected as "task.activated.desktop"
It seems like what you need to do is (somehow) tell EG that Winamp is running.
Can you start Winamp through EG and also add an action to the "Start Winamp" macro that inables Winamp's EG control macros? (Winamp's EG app/folder).
Seems to me there are many other ways for EG to detect/control a program that is running.
The above might be one of them.

Re: Winamp detected as "task.activated.desktop"
Hi,
I would like that when winamp is minimized, EG detect "task activated.desktop" and when i restore winamp, EG detect "task.activated.winamp".
Thanks
I would like that EG see the difference between the (real) desktop , and winamp when it is in foreground:It seems like what you need to do is (somehow) tell EG that Winamp is running.

Re: Winamp detected as "task.activated.desktop"
Are you using the latest EventGhost Ver r1544?
And I assume you uncheck the "Log only assigned and activated events" when you test?

Yes, it is unchecked. And I assume you uncheck the "Log only assigned and activated events" when you test?

Re: Winamp detected as "task.activated.desktop"
For the latest EventGhost you need to download the XBMC2 plugin here and put it in the EventGhost\plugins\XBMCRepeat\ directory, or wait till next EventGhost.nonob wrote:I 'm using Eventghost ver 0.4.1.r1540 ..., i tried update to 0.4.1.r1544 but my XBMC2 plugin ver 0.6.1 stop working: error loading![]()
You should always backup your settings before updating just in case. But there should not be a problem with the settings.Maybe, i had just to update xbmc2 too, but i affraid to lost my settings.
Unfortunately I don't know what the problem is, sorry.Yes, it is unchecked.

Re: Winamp detected as "task.activated.desktop"
First let me say thank you to the developers for offering such a powerful application for free.
I have the same problem as nonob with the Media Player ÔÇ£Daum PotPlayerÔÇØ: Activation of PotPlayer is detected as "Task.Activated.Desktop", deactivation as ÔÇ£Task.Deactivated.DesktopÔÇØ.
IÔÇÖm using Win7-64 professional, my media-applications are Faststone Image Viewer, Daum PotPlayer x86 for viewing videos and Media Player Classic Home Cinema x64 for testing purposes.
I have configured an x10 remote for my HTPC. Everythings works like a charm so far with the exception that, like in the Winamp case discussed above, activation/deactivation of PotPlayer is not displayed correctly in the eventlog-panel. Activation of all other programs I've tried is displayed correctly. The Process Watcher Plugin recognizes PotPlayer correctly but offers no possibilities to react to task-switching.
In the preferences dialog ("General" tab) PotPlayer offers the "Tray icon" options "Show without Taskbar" and "Show with Taskbar". With Win7-64 task activation is always shown as "Task.Activated.Desktop" no matter which option I choose. On my old WinXP x86 machine "Show with taskbar" works: Task-activation is visible correctly (ÔÇ£PotPlayerMiniÔÇØ) in the eventlog. But if I use the x86-version under Win7-64 task-activation I always get "Task.Activated.Desktop".
Activation/deactivation of the x64-version of PotPlayer is also always shown as ÔÇ£Task.(De)Activated.DesktopÔÇØ.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled both PotPlayer and EventGhost but with no success.
Best wishes
