Z-wave question

Post by molitar »

Would a Z-wave usb device be able to be used as a receiver for a Logitech Harmony 890 RF remote? I'm wondering if I can get away from IR method right now without using some extender.

Two things, first ZWAVE is a proprietary RF signal used for home automation (like lights, dimmers, doors, blinds etc.) and not used for direct input into devices like TV's. My suggestion, invest the 75 bucks into the RCAWARE CEC HDMI adapter. This comes with an event ghost plugin that will use the HDMI port to communicate from the computer. The nice thing about that is you can map the TV buttons to do other things to. I think this is the best solution.
