Stand by of the screen

Hello,

In a previous topic Pako find a solution to tell if there is a full screen application on the screen. Thank you one more time Pako.
Now I would like to find an other solution; I want to know (via EG) if the screen is in stand-by mode or in normal mode.
It's to switch off the screen when I play music :

• * One click and the screen goes Off (if is was On).

• * One click and the screen goes On (if it was Off).

Can you help me?

What are you attempting to do clearly ?

There are the set monitor into power mode off / re-enable monitor actions. Look them up in Display

If you wanna power off the monitor when you launch a music player it would be easy to do

This would avoid to press 2 times the "A" button in some cases. For example : If the screen in On and if the toggle function is waiting for swtich ON the screen. First action on the button "A" the screen stay ON, the second one the screen goes OFF.

That's all. Am I clear?

I don't see how you are even toggling the switch. EventGhost has discrete switches for each thing, whether it is setting the screen to go off, or re-enabling it; there is no toggle that I can see.

If you explain what you want to do, rather than just toggling the screen, it might help, i.e. you want to turn off your screen when you are watching something on your projector, or listening to music, et cetera, and you want to turn the screen back on when you want to watch something on your monitor. Another question I can think of is, why do you want to press the button manually, and not have it happen automatically, and why the toggle, instead of a button for monitor off, and monitor on?

First, I want the toggle function because my remote have not a lot of free button. That's with my Eventghost Macro have to read screen's state (On or Off) to change this state.
Second, If I want to Switch Off the screen exactily when I want, I have to push a button isn't it?

Example:
I want to ear music. I take my remote controller, start XBMC, choose my music, play it. No problem...
Now I want to Switch Off the screen by my remote controller. Then I press one button.

For your information : I'm not English, I'm French. It's not so easy to explain my problem. Sorry.

Oh OK, I understand.

I want to ear music. I take my remote controller, start XBMC, choose my music, play it. No problem...

If you want your monitor to go off every time you play music on XBMC, and then come back on automatically when your music pauses, stops, or gets to the end of the playlist, then you should install the great XBMC plug-in beta by jonib here:

It will monitor when XBMC plays and stops music, and you can use those triggers to automatically turn your monitor off and on, without any key presses on your remote at all.

No worries, your English is much better than my French. For what it's worth, 'I want to ear music', would be written more commonly in English as: I want to listen to music. Hopefully that helps.
