Create an event from an error (resolving UIRT-problem)

Post by LoA »

I have a problem with my UIRT making it non responsive from time to time, in EG this shows as "Device is not ready!"

For me deactivating and activating the UIRT-plugin resolves this and my UIRT works again. I have created a macro doing this but now I want it to automatically trigger every time the error occurs.

So, how do I make the error "Device is not ready" trigger an event that I can use to start my macro?

I have the same problem with my USB-UIRT from time to time and usually pull it from the USB port when it happens. I'll try your solution next time.
Not sure you can catch the error as an event, a workaround might be a timer that does it every 5 min or so.

Sure you could have it run every 5 minutes but I┬┤m not sure what generates the unresponsiveness. Maybe It┬┤s the actual command I give let┬┤s say from my phone to start the TV that makes UIRT stop responding, then I wouldn┬┤t like to wait 5 minutes not even 1 minute for UIRT to start working again. I would like it to fix itself and one more press from my side would generate the IR-blast (or even better, fix itself and resend the last command that failed).

Is there any EG-pro out there that could see a way to use the error as a trigger for a macro?

Seems like the lockups are hardware related.

Do you have emitters plugged in?

There's a hardware fix in a thread somewhere around here if you're handy.
