Hi all, I'm currently using a program called Demopad, which converts my ipad/iphone into a remote control. I want to control my MCE HTPC over tcp/ip. Is there a way evenghost will do this ? I don't want a webpage, I just want to associate a command to a button on the ipad. eg TV GUIDE. I then want to send the command (CTRL G in this case) to the HTPC, over the network.
Cheers
Jamie

Can I control MCE with IP commands?
Re: Can I control MCE with IP commands?
No, I don't think that there is no way to control MCE with the IP commands. If anybody not agree with me then tell me about this.
Re: Can I control MCE with IP commands?
Yes, if you use the Network Event receiver plugin, you can pick up IP commands from Demopad and configure EG to do anything you want. I do the same but with iRule instead of Demopad. iRule uses udp but the concept is exactly the same.

Thanks for the replies.
Sounds like you can use eventghost then. In the mean time I came across another option. http://www.kindel.com/products/mcecontroller Works really well, and already has the MCE commands setup.
Thanks again

Re: Can I control MCE with IP commands?
I have controlled MCE and even extenders for over a year. I use VMCcontroller. I can use any device that has a browser. I use an archos 5it and a pandigital novel for the different rooms. Both just access web pages via the webserver plugin. I also use it to get stats back from mce to display the progress on the webpage.
This could also be used with other apps already available and just use the network send/receiver plugin. I had this before I went to using a webpage suite.
