Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
I'm trying to get your plugin working with the new PS3 remote that has the volume and channel buttons at the bottom. I can get it working in raw HID mode, but not in your plugin. And way you can take a look?
Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
My problem (like most others) was that I was using 3.0.0. 4.0.0 works great except for the new buttons that weren't on the old remote. I've added the buttons to 4.0.0 and it works like it should. In the next few days I'm going to do the same thing to 4.0.1 so we have some continuity of the plugin and post it here as 4.0.2, unless anyone has any objections.RedsGT wrote:I'm trying to get your plugin working with the new PS3 remote that has the volume and channel buttons at the bottom. Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
Hello,
I've added support for the Blu-Link Universal PS3 Remote, which basically just has a different VID. The work is based on the 4.0.2 above by RedsGT. I incremented version number to 4.0.3. I hope that's ok.

Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
Thanks a lot Scissors and RedsGT !
I have updated the plugin and things work much better.
I have some problem, though. I had it even before the update. I would really appreciate it if anyone can provide some lead.
Every couple of minutes/clicks - the Blu-Link remote stops responding. Here is what EG is writing :
Error HID device disconected: SMK-Link Corporation BD Remote Control
PS3.Stopped
System.DeviceRemoved [u'\\\\?\\HID#{00001124-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_VID&00020609_PID&0306#8&7117181&0&0000#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']
After few seconds without responding, I am getting :
System.DeviceAttached [u'\\\\?\\HID#{00001124-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_VID&00020609_PID&0306#8&7117181&0&0000#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}']
PS3.Button.Down
where things go back to normal.
This is happening a lot, so it is really annoying and prevents me to using the remote control.
Any input would be welcomed.

Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
This is the power saving mode of the remote which disables the bluetooth connection after some seconds without usage.
Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
With my Blu-Link remote, I don't get DeviceRemoved messages, but it does delay the initial button press for around ~2s while it's waking up from sleep (I assume).
Here's an update to the plugin that fixes the BatteryLevel out of range error message that may occur when the battery is low.

Problems with PS3 Plugin & Bluesoleil
Hi all.
I'm using eventghost + ps3 plugin and works fine... "but", i'm trying to use the wiimote controllers (for mame usage), so i've installed bluesoleil program to manage the wiimotes...
The problem is that the bluesoleis also connects to the PS3 Remote, and the ps3plugin stops working. I think is cose the blue soleil changes the driver WIDCOMM, and uses it's own driver.
Any idea how is that driver named?, or how can I implement that code into Ps3 remote plugin?.
Thanks a lot

Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
Can somebody please help me with pairing BD remote with PC.
I recently re-installed Windows and now I can't pair the remote no meter what I try. I have MSI Bluetooth dongle and it was working fine but I don't remember what drivers I had.
Now when I try to pair the remote and I press PS+start button I can see remote as "Input device, Bluetooth"... with image of keyboard and mouse. Then i click on it and then click next and still keep pressing PS+start button and then I got message that: Adding this device to this computer failed... It took to long for tis device to respond...
And that's it I can try again but same thing happens, I don't know what to do. The worst thing is that I had it working with same dongle and now I can't do it.
I try to change batteries, tried on different PC with same dongle and no luck. What did I miss??

Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
Don't keep holding PS+start. Only hold them for around 3 seconds when the light turns on on the remote. Then it's in pairing mode. Once you click to add it on the computer you don't have to press anything again on the remote.ljubanve wrote:Can somebody please help me with pairing BD remote with PC.

Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
Thanks for the quick replay. I just tried what you suggested and no, same thing again. I press PS+start button for 3 seconds and Win finds it and in that moment I click on it and next and same error again.
And I don't have any lights on remote. You probably have newer version...

I think you might have to track down the right dongle driver.ljubanve wrote:Thanks for the quick replay. I just tried what you suggested and no, same thing again. I press PS+start button for 3 seconds and Win finds it and in that moment I click on it and next and same error again.

Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
Hi guys,
I┬┤ve been using the most recent version of EventGhost together with MantaÔäó TR1 IR receiver/tranciever hitting it with IR blasts from a Hauppauge remote. To my dissappointment Ive had some problems with key stroke repetitions. Either the remote doesn┬┤t register my press, or it will repeat one time too much. Anyhow, I┬┤ve also gotten tiered of always have to sort of point the remote in the direction of the IR-receiver/tranciever.
Then it came to my attention that EventGhost has support for the PS3 remote (even some support for the late update of the remote which came late 2011).
How does the repeat handling work in EventGhost using a PS3 remote? Is the feeling "responsive"? And will I be able to hold a button to create an even flow of events sent to EG?
BTW, I plan to get this bluetooth adapter Trust Bluetooth 3.0 USB Adapter. Does anyone have any experience from using it with a PS3 remote?
Cheers, Erik

Re: PlayStation 3 Bluetooth Remote
No matter what I do I cant get the power saving feature work!
Am I doing something wrong?
- I downloaded and installed the newest version of EventGhost (0.4.1.r1544)
- I downloaded the newest PS3-Plugin (4.0.4) and copied the files ine the Plugins/PS3 foleder of EventGhost
- (Dont know if this Step is necessarily) I saw in the "__init__.py" a line "BD_ADDR = "00:21:4f
5a:85" # XXX: auto detect". This is defenetly not the MAC of my PS3 Remote. I even tryed to put here the right one but this also does not help.
I have the following Bluetooth-Dongle: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001NW7 ... 00_details (sorry german website). What Stack do I use?
Can someone please help?
thanks
