Hello,
I am pretty new to any kind of programming. I worked with Autohotkey in the past few weeks, but it lacks the excellent HID support of EventGhost.
I need to be able to remap keys without scancode, just from the raw data, and with ahk this is painful.
On the other hand I couldn't figure out how to remap keys with Eventghost, other than sending a text block with the GUI function.
Is it realistic to use EventGhost in that way? For remapping Keys and simple makros with delay times between the commands, or things like a toggle key, where you have a event triggered on the down and the up of the physical key.
And I read somewhere, that eventghost cannot simulate a held down key e.g. {CTRL down} Delay 10 ms {CTRL up}.
Or something like Hotkey held down - send "3" then delay 10 ms then send "y down", keep it down, then when hotkey is physically released, release simulated y.
Or would stuff like that have to be done completely in python (which I know nothing about). How complex are those things described above in python?
Thank you.
P.S.: In case it isn't realistic, do you know any program that can work with hid raw data like Eventghost and has the same basic functions of AHK for scripting?

Can EG replace Autohotkey for these uses?
Re: Can EG replace Autohotkey for these uses?
I still need help with this.
Re: Can EG replace Autohotkey for these uses?
EG can read keyboard commands and send key commads... so "remapping" of sorts, seems like it can be done.
As for your other stuff, I don't know. I suggest you install EG (takes 10 seconds) and try it out to see.
