Phillips MCE receiver plugin

Post by Rahil »

Hi

I have just come across this program as i need to use it to map a Directv RC65 remote to my pc. However I cannot seem to find my receiver in the plugin list!

It is a Philips OVU412000 IR Receiver, here is a pic:

Does anyone know if this is compatible ? If not can someone recommend a cheap IR receiver that is compatible with Eventghost?

Thank you

Hi Rahil,

I seem to have this exact same IR receiver, however it came bundled with my previous notebook, and I never knew it was a "Phillips" MCE Receiver (same OVU number and looks identical, only mine reads OVU412000/00 on the bottom, not sure if yours is different in the last bit). Anyway, back then and also know, I've been successfully using it with EG on my old Vista system I had (3yrs), and my newer Win7x64 one I have now. I suggest you try the "Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista/Win7" Plugin to use for it. (the one with the alternate driver works best for me). The actual remote you are using, as long as it is picked up by the receiver should then be able to be picked up in EG and used accordingly.

So short answer is yes the receiver works in EventGhost as a standard MCE Remote Receiver.

Hope this helps.
