Help : Lost code - Universal PC remote QSonic

Post by zweigbm »

First of all : thank you for the great job already done :D

I have been happy using QSonic (Pearl) remote for 2 years, mainly for tv and home cinema devices (TV, DVD, Home Cinema, DVB-T, VHS). I also tried to control my PC with given programs (Showshifter, MouseRemote) but finally gave up after few days as I was not satisfied by the results.

I recently discovered EventGhost, and it looked exactly what I have been looking for.

I have been trying to use it for few hours, when I changed the remote control code for PC with the X10 one (820). It turned to be a silly mistake as it was just a driver problem.
After a proper driver installation I was able to receive signals from the remote, but these are Home Appliances signals : AllOn, AllOff, On, Off, Bright, Dim...
I tried several codes, but the last solution is to set the PC Control Remote back to factory default, unless you help me!!! :?

Could one of you could give me the original code for PC remote control, which can be simply given by the simple instructions described in the remote documentation :
1. Press and hold SETUP until the LED indicator lights steadily. Release SETUP.
2. Press the mode key for the equipment you want to identify (TV, VCR, DVD, SAT or AUX). The LED blinks once.
3. Press again SETUP. The LED blinks once.
4. To identify the first digit press each number button from 0 - 9 until the LED blinks. The number you pressed is the first digit of the code.
5. Press each number key from 0 - 9 as above to find the second digit.
6. Press each number key from 0 - 9 as above to find the third digit. When the third digit has been found the LED will go off

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi all,

Well, I answer to my own question: 734.
This is the code to assign for PC key with the QSonic remote PC control. Just in case you accidentally change it.

Everything is OK now, and I guess I'm just starting to appreciate EventGhost.

By the way, newer driver for X10, "X10 USB Wireless Transceiver (ACPI Compliant)" V3.0.0.187, works as well as the classical V2.36.

Thanks again for the job.
I may give a hand on french translation, which is already quite good...
