Eventghost stops receiving events

Post by schindi77 »

Hello!

I┬┤ve already postetd my problem in the german sector but I hope to get more help here, so please have understanding for my doublepost...

I have a strange problem that I want to try to figure out with your help.

Following setup:

I am running EventGhost on a HTPC based on E350. This HTPC is in the living room and works as a "satellite receiver" for live TV.
As software there┬┤s only running DVB-Viewer (via plugin controlled by EG) + its recording service.

This HTPC is always set into hibernate from which it will automatically wake up for a timer recording or manually by remote control.

My problem now is that after an undefined time EventGhost loses the connection to the "System Events".
This means that, for example, after waking up from hibernate the event "Resume" or "ResumeAutomatic" is no longer received, what causes that the following necessary commands (e.g. tune the last channel) are not executed automatically.

If EventGhost is closed and restarted everything workes again as it should.
But this is not practical on a HTPC.

In addition to this, the DVB-Viewer plugin also frequently loses the connection to the DVB-Viewer, although DVB-Viewer is running permanently.
With a workaroung with cyclically deactivating and re-activating the plugin this can be solved, but it┬┤s also not very useful....

Can somebody help me find out what is running wrong here?

Have you thought about using a scheduler to check for a "heartbeat" and then just execute a task to jump start the connection?

I think this is what you call "check for heartbeat".

This works for the DVB-Viewer Plugin, although it┬┤s not a very clean solution because it causes the interface to lag a little bit.

The problem is that I don┬┤t get the events produced by the SYSTEM, e.g. "hibernate" or "resume".
So WHAT resource/plugin/macro/whatever... should I check for heartbeat, to get this SYSTEMEVENTS back?????
I think this events are generated EG-internally, or not?
